The results are in for The Times and Sunday Times League Tables 2016. Study Group is delighted to announce excellent performance by the universities with which we work - both overall and in a broad range of individual subjects.
University of the Year
The University of Surrey is the biggest success story to come out of The Times and Sunday Times League Tables 2016 among all of the universities with which we work. Now in the top 10 for the first time as the number eight university in the UK, the University also claimed the prestigious University of the Year award.
Lancaster University, the University of Leeds and the University of Sussex provided further cause for celebration by making it into the top 20, and 10 institutions with which Study Group works now feature in the Times and Sunday Times top 50.
Besides the success of the University of Sussex climbing its way back into the top 20, The University of Sheffield isn't far behind, edging its way closer in 21st position. The University of Huddersfield also deserves special mention for progressing by eight places, from 77th to 69th.
Individual subject success
Beyond the overall success of these universities, the individual subject rankings showcase just how broad the Study Group portfolio really is.
Lancaster University claimed first place for Communications and Media Studies, and the University of Leeds came top for Accounting and Finance. Liverpool John Moores University has climbed into 5th place for Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism, while Royal Holloway University of London maintains a solid top-10 spot in 9th position for Geography and Environmental Science.
The University of Strathclyde also has several reasons to celebrate having claimed places in the top 20 for subject areas including Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Economics, and Communications and Media Studies as well as a range of engineering and science disciplines.
