Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon receives prestigious recognition

Congratulations to our Provost and Chief Academic Officer Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon who was this week recognised as an alumna of excellence by her alma mater, la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Mexico.

Professor Rodriguez-Falcon studied Mechanical Engineering, graduating with a first class degree at the University in 1994, followed by a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Relations. Founded in 1933, la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León is the largest public university in Mexico with almost 215,000 students over seven campuses.

Professor Rodriguez-Falcon then moved to the United Kingdom where she became a professor of Engineering and champion of enterprise education before moving to lead a new institution of higher education NMITE. A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, she is also a long-standing champion of women in STEM. After serving as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor in Wales, Professor Rodriguez-Falcon became Provost of Study Group in the autumn of 2023.
