A unique opportunity has opened at the beautiful University of Sussex International Study Centre. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed Visa Officer to join the centre in a fundamental role within the centre. If you are a pro-active and flexible, with experience dealing with student applications, and a good knowledge of Home Office/UKVI Regulations, then this is a fantastic chance for you to join our global network.

Salary:  £24,278 per annum

Contract Type: Maternity Cover (Nov 2018 – February 2020).

What is this role and where does it fit in?

  • You will ensure each student has the relevant immigration documentation required for the duration of their study at ISC and to support the well-being of each student, through planned activities and by being responsive to students’ concerns and queries.
  • You will ensure compliance for the centre for QAA and the Home Office.
  • You’ll work with Student Services to monitor student attendance and follow attendance protocol and Home Office/UKVI requirements.
  • Provide general admin support for the Centre as required and cover duties for other members of staff when absent and during peak periods
  • You will assist with induction programmes and be responsible for inducting late arrivals.

What experience do you need?

  • Previous experience assisting students with Visa applications and queries.
  • Experience working in an educational environment, ideally in a Further Education, or Higher Education environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Home Office/UKVI regulations and SMS reporting

The Location

The University of Sussex International Study Centre is a campus that offers a unique combination of tranquillity and energy. The centre is surrounded by a breath-taking national park, yet at the same time we are a short train or bus journey from Brighton. Brighton has fantastic transport links, so you'll easily be able to explore the rest of the UK and Europe. This role reports directly to the Head of Professional Services, working within the wider Professional Services team, that are friendly and professional.
