Due to some very exciting growth, we are looking for a customer focused Student Support Officer to join the Professional Services Team. As the largest pathway college within the UK & Europe, with over 1,500 students enrolled annually, you’ll be joining a large collaborative team that is passionate about providing a world-class student experience. Contract Type: Full Time
Salary: £18,000 per annum
In this job role you will support students within non-academic areas within the College, including reception, attendance monitoring, induction and registration, visa support, accommodation, welfare and well-being and immigration support. In order to do this well, the team needs to maintain and build a strong network of contacts and relationships so your use of people skills is essential.
You will contribute to the overall objective of the College—“preparing international students to progress and thrive at the University of Sheffield through successful completion of their programme”-- -by ensuring that student issues are dealt with quickly and effectively, in order to ensure their full engagement with their course. You’ll do this by supporting them to live independently, safely and healthily in the UK, through communication and collaboration with a variety of teams and stakeholders, both inside and outside the College.
Experience and qualifications
- You will have experience in a face to face customer service or support role.
- Experience supporting students in a further education or higher education setting is advantageous.
- Communication skills are key, as well as strong active listening skills and empathy.
- You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
