This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the centre on a full-time permanent contract, in a key role that supports students through their study in the UK. This is a fantastic job role where no day will be the same, and one that you can really make your own.
Our students are a long way from home, whilst also dealing with cultural differences and complete new learning environment. There will be a variety of different situations and welfare issues that you will encounter so a calm manner is important. You’ll have the chance to put your people skills to the test, using empathy, enthusiasm, and motivation to ensure that the student journey is exceptional.
You will, of course, receive full training to ensure you are equipped to succeed in this job role. Your first week will consist of a full induction and training of the systems. You’ll always have another member of staff resent top assist if needed. As well as this you will have access to the training that the University is offering.
Your responsibility in this job will be to act as the first point of contact for the students at the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre. You’ll be working a variety of actives that will have a huge impact on the student experience. Your standard day could involve a mixture of duties from providing helpdesk support, dealing with student queries, or minute taking. When induction arrives, your organisation skills will be tested, and throughout the year you’ll have the opportunity to be creative by setting up events, activities, clubs, and trips for our students to take part in.
- Experience working in face to face customer service is essential.
- Experience managing a variety of different general administration tasks.
- If you have organised events, societies, or similar then this would be a huge advantage.
- Previous experience with working with students in an educational environment would be advantageous.
