Sessional Tutor for Business Studies

Job Description

Coventry University London International Study Centre (CULISC) partners with Coventry University London and is seeking a sessional Tutor to teach up to 20 hours per week. The ISC offers programmes in the following areas; Foundation (level 3), International Year One (level 4) and Pre Masters (level 6) in Business, Accounting, Management and Finance.

Location: Greenwich

Contract: Variable up to 20 hours (start February 2018), Fixed term contract to 7th September 2018

Key Responsibilities 


  • Prepare schemes of work for each module taught
  • Follow ISC procedures for the marking of exams and assignments
  • Record attendance on a daily basis using the ISC online system
  • Liaise with the appropriate personnel regarding student progression and welfare
  • Accurately rate student performance online when required
  • Prepare assignments and exams in line with the ISC policy


  • Engage with quality assurance and enhancement processes
  • Keep assignment and coursework marks and input data into online system (Progresso)
  • Attend staff meetings/training sessions
  • Complete pay claim forms (as required by the Administration Manager)
  • Attend standardisation sessions
  • Invigilate examinations in accordance with contracted hours


  • Engage with the CPD and Appraisal process
  • Regularly review data on student attendance and progress and take actions to support students at risk

Selection Criteria

Qualifications (essential)

  • Candidates should be qualified to at least Postgraduate level
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching international students is desirable
