Due to internal promotions, we are pleased to be looking to recruit a new Progression Support Officer to the Professional Services Team. This is a fantastic chance to work in a job role that plays a key role in our student’s progression to University by providing support in a number of ways.

However, it’s an exciting role where no day is the same, and you’ll be given support from an initial induction, regular team meetings, and a personal development plan.
Contract Type: Full Time
Salary: £18,000 per annum
In this job role, you will provide support for the full range of activities undertaken by Progression Support including (but not limited to): data management and reporting; progression management and enhancement; student support and communication of policies.
The Progression Support team works collaboratively with all other teams in the College, and stakeholders in the University to “prepare international students to progress and thrive at the University of Sheffield through successful completion of their course”. In this job role, you’ll be working in a team that continually monitors student performance to ensure that timely support is provided with a view to enhancing each individual’s opportunity for success. If a student is unlikely to progress to the University of Sheffield, the Progression Support team helps them to explore alternative options in UKHE.
This is a job that is full of variety and requires a mixture of face to face student support and different administration tasks.
Experience and qualifications
- You will have experience in a face to face customer service or support role (ideally supporting young adults)
- Experience working in a fast paced administration role working a variety of admin.
- Experience supporting students in further education or higher education setting is advantageous.
- Communication skills are key, as well as strong active listening skills and empathy.
- You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
