The salary is £30,000 per annum.
Who is this role for and where does it fit in?
This is a brand new role within the centre. Reporting into the Head of Curriculum and Progression, this role will provide support for the full range of activities including data management and reporting; progression management and enhancement; student support and communication of policies.
Progression support works with the academic, professional services and academic personal tutor teams in DUISC to ’prepare international students to progress and thrive at Durham University through successful completion of their programme.’ The post holder will work with these teams, taking the lead on continually monitoring student performance to ensure that timely support is provided with a view to enhancing each individual’s opportunity for success. If a student is unlikely to progress to Durham University, the Progression and Transition support manager will work with academic personal tutors to help the student to explore alternative options in UKHE.
What experience do you need?
- Previous experience as a Teacher or experience working in Education in a support/admin role would be highly desirable.
- Excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to structure your work in order to support student progression, and generate new ideas which will improve performance
- Good time management, with the ability to prioritise a high work load.
- The ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Experience following policies and procedures.
Where is the role based?
Our Durham University International Study Centre is the newest to the Study Group network, recently opening its doors in September last year. Based in the stunning Queens Campus, it is now a fully functional centre full of talent students from across the globe. The centre runs a varied curriculum across the International Foundation, and the Pre-Masters programme.
