Our Student Experience teams are the backbone of each study centre, responsible for all activity outside of the classroom. A fantastic job opportunity has opened at our Leeds International Study Centre for a confident, caring, and supportive Progression and Welfare Support Officer to join the team.
Working in a small team you will take on responsibility for a number of students, supporting them throughout their study in a number of ways. The students are a long way from home, adjusting to a completely different environment, so your support in this job is essential to ensure that they have a world class experience.
Our Leeds International Study Centre has experienced lots of positive change and growth throughout the last 18 months, so you will be joining a centre that offers excitement and opportunity. You’ll receive Safeguarding (Level 3) and mental health first aid training, to ensure that you have the skill set that you need to support the students effectively. It’s a unique centre that situation in Headingley stadium which is 5 minutes from Burley Park Station and a short commute to Leeds city centre.
This is a fast paced role where the volume of work can be high, however, it’s a highly rewarding job that also gives you the opportunity to support students from around the world. This is a unique job that will give you the opportunity to support international students in a variety of activities related to their progression, welfare, and support. You will be allocated a number of Tutor groups (around 90-100 students) and will support these students individually and in a group setting. You’ll have the opportunity to lead in a classroom helping with activities such as time management and assessment regulations so confidence in this type of environment is key.
Your day will be varied, as you’ll be the first point of contact for any welfare or attendance issues that may be highlighted. You’ll be expected to monitor your student’s progression which could involve working closely with Tutors to ensure that the relevant action is being taken. During busy times, you’ll work on a variety of different general admin whilst also helping with general queries.

- Experience in a face to face support role (essential)
- If you have experience supporting students (ideally aged 16+) then this would be highlight desirable
- Good ability with Microsoft Office is required (essential).
