Our Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) International Study Centre is looking for a Professional Services Administrator to provide administrative assistance and lend support to the Professional Services Manager. The role of Professional Services Administrator plays a key part in supporting the Centre Management with key operational priorities associated with running the LJMU International Study Centre (ISC). The successful candidate will work closely with academic staff, the students themselves as part of the ISC’s Professional Services Team. This vacancy is ideal for an organised person with strong communication skills, who can successfully support the needs of students and staff alike.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide student facing advice and support at the ISC Reception Desk in conjunction with other Professional Services staff
  • To assist with producing and maintaining detailed process guides for your areas of responsibility
  • To provide general administration support for the centre as required and cover administration duties for other members of staff when absent and during peak periods
  • To assist in all administrative aspects of assessment and reassessment periods during the academic year
  • To ensure information is kept up to date on the Academic and Student Management databases and systems
  • To assist the Progression and Welfare Officer with monitoring student attendance
  • To assist with class scheduling, including collecting availability of staff and communicating timetables to students
  • To assist with student induction and arrivals
  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of students, with particular regard for under 18’s
  • To assist with activities in relation to UKVI and GDPR compliance requirements
  • Data entry on spreadsheets and databases
  • To support with conducting and facilitating student/agent tours
  • To ensure noticeboards are updated regularly
  • To foster productive relationships with the student body and other members of staff
  • To provide support with ISC extracurricular and social events and attend as required
  • To ensure the office, classroom and kitchen spaces are kept in good order, including reporting any maintenance issues to relevant contact points

Experience and qualification

  • Level 3 qualification (Essential)
  • Experience of working with staff and students in an international education environment (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of student database systems (Desirable)
