This is a fantastic job opportunity for a Learning Designer to join our online team. As we continue to expand our online learning portfolio, you will join at the very early stages of a number of exciting online projects that will have a significant positive impact across the Study Group Brand. Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full time, permanent. (x3 positions available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the scoping new online projects, identifying project objectives, defining learning objectives/outcomes and establishing target audiences.
  • Designing, assessing and improving the student learning experience of online modules and understanding what activities work (and don’t work) in the online space.
  • Working with academic subject matter experts on their content requirements and identifying appropriate and innovative solutions.
  • Setting up courses for delivery, including preparing and updating existing courses, quality assurance, and implementing year-on-year improvements before each course launch.
  • Completing the setup of the course tasks in our task management system. This includes identifying milestones, agreeing live session dates, assessing and liaising with the wider team to complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Contributing to the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of the online materials and modules.
  • Reviewing and amending module content post-delivery, to ensure consistency and alignment with our learning design approach and templates.
  • Help to review modules from the student perspective, including gathering all the data and information needed for the evaluation to take place.
  • Conducting evidence-based instructional evaluation and analysis of learners and contexts.


  • A minimum of a Degree qualification.
  • Experience either teaching (ideally online) or the ability to provide learning design consulting services to internal and external subject matter experts and prospective partners/clients to design effective learning programmes.
  • Experience teaching English Language or Academic English (Desirable)
  • Expertise relating to pedagogical concepts and lesson/curriculum planning.
  • Prior experience in online and blended learning design.
  • Ability to review and evaluate modules to ensure they are effective.
  • Experience of utilising technical development tools and applying new learning technologies.
