Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

Study Group in Brighton is looking for a maintenance technician to provide a committed approach to both proactive and reactive maintenance duties covering our college study centre, student accommodation buildings and Head Office location as outlined in the key responsibilities below. This role will focus on the electrical maintenance.

Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary:
£26,000 FTE per annum

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out first line electrical, hot water and heating diagnostics and basic repairs.
  • Carry out basic building repairs including painting, basic carpentry, floor repairs etc.
  • Respond efficiently to maintenance fault calls with a committed approach through to their completion.
  • Assist in the completion of facilities planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and monitor our sub-contractor engineers whilst on-site.
  • Assist in delivering our Health and safety management processes.
  • Deliver a clean working environment including basic gardening, jet washing and bailing.
  • Be proactive in setting up rooms for key events, examinations, meetings and student activity. 
  • Assist in site portage requirements, removals, supplier collections as and when required.
  • Assist in emergency situations as fire warden to ensure student, staff & contractor safety.

  • Basic commercial electrics
  • Basic Heating system
  • Fire Safety
  • Health & Safety
  • First-line heating and electrics diagnostics.
  • Painting & decorating
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Good PC skills including online portals and all Microsoft Office programmes
  • Have a proactive approach to a safe and clean working environment
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and follow specified procedures.
