Due to growth and internal development, we are pleased to say that we are opening the doors at our University of Sussex International Study Centre, to a talented Academic Leader to join on a full time permanent contract.

Who is this role for and where does it fit in?

This is a key role within the centre, reporting directly into the Director of Curriculum and Progression. The key purpose of the role is to lead a team of Subject Leaders and Academic tutors, ensuring that all courses are delivered to agreed standard. The right candidate will be expected to follow the agreed curriculum and utilise agreed assessment modes, resulting in the best possible outcomes for students and the best possible student experience. As well as this, you would have the opportunity to design and manage the delivery of an agreed collection of courses in a subject area.

What experience do you need?

  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment
  • Experience of leading an Academic team to achieve high levels of student academic performance and outcomes against agreed targets
  • Ability to operate within quality assurance frameworks or to quality codes
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and benchmarks applicable to academic programmes and courses in HE
  • Knowledge of best practice in teaching in subject area in FE and HE
  • Experience of teaching in a relevant subject area

Where is the role based?

This role is based at the University of Sussex International Study Centre. The campus offers a unique combination of tranquillity and energy. The centre is surrounded by a beautiful national park, yet at the same time we are a short train or bus journey from Brighton. Brighton has fantastic transport links, so you'll easily be able to explore the rest of the UK and Europe.
