Email Marketing Manager

Job Description

Job Purpose: manages email communication tools and strategy to increase Study Group brand awareness and support digital targets.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the execution of all email marketing activity to support key stages of the customer journey, including;
  • Front end design and content requirements
  • Email user experience
  • Technical development and build of emails and Marketing Cloud journeys
  • Insights
  • Lead on email marketing best practice globally across the business
  • Line manage email marketing team
  • Work with the Creative Services studio to create appropriate text and visual content requirements for email marketing
  • Work closely with the wider Marketing Automation team and global business teams to deliver an excellent student experience with a demonstrable impact on enrolments
  • Ensure effective running of email journeys and journey performance
  • Track performance of content and make data driven decisions as to how to best engage and convert our subscribers
  • Manage performance reporting, ensuring reports and insights on time and accurate with detailed commentaries and recommendations where required
  • Manage tracking of click activity in internal and external tools
  • A/B testing of content to drive higher engagement and conversion rates
  • Support B2B email team on email build, best practice, execution and reporting
  • Deliver high-quality of work on tight deadlines, manage ad hoc requests, and manage internal communications effectively
  • Generate and analyse data from activity, identify strengths, weaknesses and providing actionable insights in order to better optimise future email marketing campaigns and ongoing activity performance.
  • Benchmark brand performance against internal and industry data
  • Stay on top of emerging email marketing trends and best practice

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Training

  • Preferably tertiary educated
  • Experience in Marketing Cloud or similar tools such as Pardot, Marketo
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM beneficial
  • Experience using email marketing tools beneficial
  • Experience using HTML and CSS
  • Experience in Google Analytics

Experience Required

  • Up to 3 years’ experience in a senior digital role

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to think creatively
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Demonstrable experience using content management systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of marketing automation
  • Confident in understanding customer needs
  • Confident with identifying quality content that aligns with customer need
  • Problem solver with a can-do, dynamic approach to challenges and change
  • Enthusiastic to learn and develop new skills, and utilising them in developing high quality email activity that enhances the student journey
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively work in a team environment
  • High attention to detail and delivery of quality outputs
  • Professional maturity, energy and enthusiasm
