The University Of Sheffield International College is the largest pathway college within the UK & Europe with over 2000 students enrolled annually. Our international students study bespoke academic programmes, which provide them with a pathway into the University of Sheffield for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.

Due to significant growth, we are excited to grow our Senior Management team within the centre by introducing a new Deputy College Director.

Key responsibilities

As Deputy College Director you will support the College Director in the management and leadership of the University Of Sheffield International College, across the academic and Professional Services team, taking a ‘one team’ approach. You will be responsible for supporting the performance of the curriculum team to deliver a great student experience both inside and outside the classroom. As a senior leader, you will play a key role in leading a team and setting high expectations for students and teachers, which allows them to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students and stakeholders. You will be responsible for achieving excellent student outcomes, quality assurance and enhancement of our curriculum.

You will also be responsible for supporting and guiding the Professional Services team, in order to ensure that key legislation is adhered to (Health and Safety, Safeguarding, UKVI Compliance) and that high-quality services, support and experiences are delivered to students and staff members alike.

Experience and qualification

  • You will have proven experience of strategic leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment, with evidence of significant success and results.
  • You will have a strong understanding of UK Further Education and Higher Education and experience of managing study programmes, student support services, administration and staff within an international, UK further and/or Higher Education context.
  • You will be able to articulate and implement a clear vision to drive forward continuous improvement, as well as monitor and achieve our targets for student outcomes.
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong ability and a track record of collaborative working, which would facilitate strong working relationships with our university partner, as well as across the Study Group network.
  • Experience of leading & line managing college managers
  • An Academic qualification at postgraduate or equivalent is require
