An exciting opportunity has opened at our University of Leicester International Study Centre, for a confident, sociable, and friendly, Communal Area Supervisor to join the team. Located near the city centre, this is a fantastic opportunity for a customer service focused individual, to provide support to students from across the globe.  Salary:  £9-£10 per hour

Contract Type: Full time and part time available

What is this role and where does it fit in?

The majority of our students are a long way from home, so having the pastoral and welfare support that is required is essential when ensuring a first-class experience. In this role you will oversee the communal areas at the study centre, proving the highest standards of support, supervision and customer care to our students. See below some key responsibilities of the role:

  • You will supervise the Common Room and other communal areas whilst open
  • You’ll assist in the welcome and induction of all new students into the centre.
  • You will encourage students to enjoy their life at the study centre by behaving sensibly
  • You can creative by organising exciting activities for our students
  • The shift pattern for this role will be between Mondays – Saturday, 4:30pm-11pm.

What experience do you need?

We are looking for a confident customer service driven person, with extensive experience in face to face customer service. You will be responsible, natural people person with the ability to build rapport and develop relationships. Being approachable is essential as you will become a key point of contact with our students. We would be very keen to see the below experience:

  • At least 2+ years’ experience in face to face customer service/customer support.
  • Previous experience working with young adults, with any student support experience being highly desirable.
  • A good knowledge of Further or Higher Education

Based in St Georges Tower, our University of Lecise4str International Study Centre is only a short distance from the vibrant city centre. Offering excellent facilities, and a friendly culture, it’s a fantastic working environment.
