College Services and Housekeeper (Daytime)

Job Description

To take responsibility for daily cleaning of the College Science laboratories, IT Suites, gardens and communal areas making sure that an excellent quality of service is delivered. You will be ensuring there are exceptional standards of cleanliness at the College whilst delivering the best customer service and student satisfaction. As a member of the College Services Team you will also be required to assist in other general duties when required, such as light physical duties to support the Maintenance team or general administrative duties to assist the office staff. This role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 8:00 to 16:00. In addition, there may be a requirement to work weekends and overtime during the company’s busy periods.

Key Responsibilities 

  • A real passion for housekeeping and attention to detail
  • Cleaning our College, Science laboratories, IT Suites, toilet areas, gardens and communal areas
  • Supporting our team by cleaning communal areas
  • To deliver exceptional customer service to our students
  • Reporting on daily and weekly tasks
  • Troubleshooting problems and emergency situations as they arise
  • Any other reasonable request asked of you by your manager
  • Preparing functions, Meetings and events
  • Assisting other departments, as required

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Training

  • Ability to communicate and read clearly and accurately in spoken and written English
  • COSHH and other relevant training will be provided 

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Housekeeper/Room Attendant would be an advantage 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong organisational and clear communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the Study Group Code of Conduct, and all local Bellerbys Colleges policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters
