Business Development Executive (Home based)

The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving business development for higher education across North America, focussing mainly on the US. This is a sales role, focused on developing and partnering with key lead sources such as Academic Partnership Development (APD).

It’s an opportunity to work for Study Group, the 2017 and 2018 Pathway Company of the Year*, in a newly created job. The job comes with a highly competitive basic salary plus exceptional (and uncapped) opportunity for commission.

Please note this job will be based remotely (we would prefer candidates to be relatively close to one of our partner universities), and will involve regular travel across North America.

What will the job actually involve?

Key responsibilities in this job include:

  • Responsible for identifying and developing key lead sources in assigned territory
  • Developing partnership opportunities to grow the brand and product in assigned territory
  • Management of the relationships with lead sources
  • Working closely with partners to increase growth in applications and student arrivals
  • To work to assigned KPIs assigned by management

Key lead source development includes but not limited to the following:

APD development

  • Research and develop partners in North America
  • Account management of partners
  • Working with partners to increase their leads/applications

Onshore activities

  • Onshore non-digital activities – University brand led events, student recruitment fairs, employment fairs
  • Onshore digital activities - community development working with digital marketing

Referrals

Geographical expansion

  • Identify and build new business development activities via geographical expansion
  • Lead sources as defined by Regional Director as required to grow the Direct business

What skills/experience will I need for the job?

You’ll be:

  • Tertiary educated
  • Fluent in English (Mandarin preferred)
  • Experienced using SalesForce or other Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Sales driven and results-orientated
  • Proven track record in exceeding direct sales targets, preferably from Higher Education industries
  • Experience in building corporate business relationship
  • Experience of selling a complex and diversified portfolio to enterprise customer
  • Highly IT literate
