Job overview

We’re looking for a high calibre Business Analyst to join us on a six month fixed term contract. Based at our Head Office in central Brighton (just a stone’s throw from the train station), in this job you'll lead an essential process improvement project across our North American business. You'll use your first rate communication and organisational skills to optimise current processes and systems with scalable solutions, promoting at all times a culture of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

Future State Design/Training/Communication

  • Document all elements of the end to end process, clearly defining key areas of responsibility and timeframes
  • Working with relevant SMEs, design the future state processes, policies and organisational structures that meet those design principles
  • Supporting the team in terms of delivering a communication plan, training required and any other change management or implementation tasks

Business/Process/Systems Change Scope

  • Conduct an audit of the Course Data held within the Student Master System
  • Support the creation of a Student Body database that-- will be used to record and track all elements of the students’ tuition lifecycle
  • Standardisation of the partner invoicing process
  • Create a central hub for the key commercial terms held with each partner
  • Conduct a full review of the balance sheet position for North America
  • Update the terms and conditions of student payment plans in line with the changing business environment
  • Review and improve the refund process
  • Work with the sales team in order to produce a clearly defined process for Shared Scholarships
  • Work with the Finance Systems team to implement a process that will provide a correct debtor position and accurate revenue recognition
  • Review the commissions process to ensure that accurate payments are being made to agents

Qualifications and training

  • Degree Qualified in a relevant discipline or demonstrable experience
  • Business analysis certification and/or formal training or experience (e.g. BCS, IREB, CBAP, PRINCE2, Lean 6 Sigma)
  • Demonstrable experience of working within or with a Finance department on projects (preferred)
  • Experience of designing and implementing end to end solutions across multiple systems
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence colleagues in an international matrix organisation
  • Prepared to enquire and challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
  • Able to present data and narrative in a way that is easy to read and understand
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite
  • Confident self-starter, able to build relationships with people remotely
  • Be prepared to travel to the US if required
