Talent Acquisition Consultant - Academic

Job Overview

Study Group is building an in-house Talent Acquisition function from the ground up. Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Director along with various HR and business stakeholders, the role will initially focus on academic recruitment across our ANZ business. We are building a true centre of excellence within the Talent Acquisition function, delivering not only end-to-end recruitment across the business but developing truly exciting programmatic elements to take the function to the next level.

We are looking for an experienced in-house consultant to be part of this journey and contribute to all the discussions around people, process and technology. The role will be operational and active in the marketplace from day one.

The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the identification, assessment and acquisition of talent for Study Group within the many offices across both Australia and New Zealand.   They will ensure that high-quality standards are met in hiring practices in terms of time, cost and quality; and that the Study Group employment brand is strengthened through best in class efficient recruitment and onboarding processes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior talent acquisition consultant to add real value to our business and further enhance their own skills.  Initially a long-term contract, 12 months, there is genuine potential to be permanent for the right candidate.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A demonstrable consultative approach towards managing effective candidate and stakeholder relationships.
  • Substantial experience in an in-house or RPO environment is a preferred
  • Agency experience is also a strength.  
  • Experience of recruiting across the academic space is highly preferential.
  • Ability to effectively work in a matrix environment;
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks, seeing them through to successful outcomes;
  • Ability to multitask with a positive outlook and a genuine passion for recruitment.
  • Additional languages advantageous but not essential
