Study Group Australia (SGA) operates the Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Centres in both Sydney and Melbourne in partnership with CSU. CSU and Study Group are committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for students at our Study Centres. The approved CSU courses delivered at the Study Centres include undergraduate and postgraduate courses in information technology, accounting and business leading to the award of a CSU qualification.

Job overview

Our Study Centre in Melbourne is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced/qualified professional to provide academic/learning support to students. The role is pivotal to the Study Centre’s objectives to provide an excellent student experience and achieve superior academic outcomes for its graduates. Delivery of these objectives will be through the provision of individual consultations for students regarding their assignments, study skills workshops, providing TESOL support in the classroom by team teaching with our lecturers in certain subjects and case managing students at risk.

The selection criteria to be addressed are as follows:

  • TESOL qualification at postgraduate level
  • Demonstrated ability to manage Study Support programs in higher education setting in Australia
  • Experience working with adult international students providing them with academic support and/ or developing their literacy skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support students at risk
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills including report writing
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders and work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and manage workloads to meet operational and strategic demands
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce and implement innovative programs and strategies

This is a permanent full-time, and there may be some travel required occasionally.
