Student Experience and Events Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to manage the student experience and events at the Charles Sturt University Study Centre Sydney, which is managed by Study Group in partnership with CSU.

About the Role

The Student Experience and Events Officer is responsible for supporting the Student Services Manager in the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of all events, functions and social engagement activities. Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to concept development, planning, coordination, management and delivery of all events.
  • Liaise with suppliers, external guests, internal support services and students.
  • Management of events budgets, fundraising activities and student insurance requirements.
  • Coordination of the Student Representative Council and Student Events Committee.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the Student Services office and student enquiries, especially during orientation and peak periods.
  • Occasional travel and flexible hours during peak periods is necessary

Capabilities/Experience

  • To be successful in this role you will have 12 months demonstrated experience in an events based role. Experience in an education environment would be advantageous.
  • A strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, ability to multi task and work under pressure
  • A willingness to work with young adults and valid Working with children check (employee) Certification
  • Ability to engage with the student audience and successfully promote events
  • Qualification in event management, post-secondary or similar desired
