JOB OVERVIEW

Study Group Australia (SGA) operates the Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Centres in Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney in partnership with CSU. CSU and Study Group are committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for students at our Study Centres. The approved CSU courses delivered at the Study Centres include undergraduate and postgraduate courses in information technology, accounting and business leading to the award of a CSU qualification.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Student Engagement Manager to join our Charles Sturt University Study Centre team in Melbourne. The Manager, Student Engagement is primarily responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation and the day-to-day operations of student experience and engagement activities which enhance the satisfaction and success rate of CSU students at the Melbourne campus.

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Contract type: Full time Permanent

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of staff who will provide support to students in the areas of career development, counselling, and events
  • Ensure that the Student Representative Council (SRC) is constituted on campus against relevant CSU regulations, that elections are held in an appropriate manner, that meetings are held as required and are appropriately documented.
  • Ensure that the Student Critical Incident process is implemented across the campus and reviewed annually in consultation with campus management
  • Plan an annual calendar of student events, career and counselling services and use creativity and survey results to improve the services offered
  • Manage the implementation of the post-study internship program in conjunction with the Careers Development Manager and the external internship provider that includes reporting on the number of graduates engaging with the program and working with marketing to promote student outcomes of the program
  • Lead the administration of the annual student experience survey on campus. Analyse results and write a formal report on findings annually and ensure that actions are implemented across the student body/campus that includes holding feedback sessions with students / the SRC.
  • Actively participate in the Student Services working party of CSU-SGA
  • Ensure compliance is achieved as related to the ESOS Act  where relevant,
  • Ensure that the job manual for student experience staff is complete and continuously updated

EXPERIENCE

  • An undergraduate degree
  • Experience in managing student services 
  • Experience in events management
  • Experience in writing reports and administering budgets
  • Experience in team leadership and development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the student experience requirements for international students;
  • Willingness to lead and participate in a range of student events on and off campus
  • Public speaking skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to  establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including attention to detail;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
