We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual for our Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Centre Brisbane. This position ensures that CSU Study Centre students have an exceptional experience from orientation through to graduation, focusing on non-academic activities relating to student events, careers management as well as general administrative duties associated with the position.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual calendar for events, career and welfare services and use creativity to improve upon the services offered
  • Actively participate in the Student Services and Student Administration & Finance working parties of CSU-SGA
  • Ensure compliance is achieved as related to the ESOS Act where relevant, on all events and appropriate waivers are applied where required
  • Ensure the job manual for student experience staff is complete and continuously updated
  • Lead the administration of the annual student experience survey on campus
  • Arrange examination and student orientation
  • Analyse results and write a formal report on findings annually and ensure that actions are implemented across the student body / campus
  • Manage the implementation of the post-study internship program in conjunction with the Academic Director / Careers Development Managers and the external internship provider
  • Manage the efficient and effective organisation and running of the CSU student orientations
  • Oversee student programs and activities that promote welfare and well being for students
  • Oversee the effective delivery of career support services
  • Build a vibrant student life and community on campus to increase student satisfaction, well being and engagement with the university
  • In conjunction with marketing, ensure that the student pre-arrival information on the website is reviewed and updated annually to maintain currency and relevance
  • Assist in organizing the annual CSU graduation ceremony (Brisbane location) in conjunction with the CSU graduation office
  • Ensure that all student experience activities are delivered in a timely manner along with excellent customer service
  • Implement communication strategies to ensure all stakeholders are continuously informed
  • Work collaboratively with the CSU divisions of student services & student administration
  • Provide accurate and timely report to CSU Study Centre Academic Director on all student experience services

Selection criteria

  • An undergraduate degree or relevant qualifications
  • Experience in managing student services
  • Experience in events management
  • Experience in writing reports and administering budgets
  • Experience in team leadership and development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the student experience requirements for international students
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including attention to detail
  • Sensitivity to students from other cultures

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working at tertiary education environment
  • Familiarity with the international education sector

This role requires a Working with Children Check, which must be gained at the successful candidate's own expense prior to appointment.
