Job Overview

Reporting to the Head of Charles Sturt University Study Centres, the National Business, Assurance & Strategy Director is accountable for supporting the overall business management and continued improvement of the Charles Sturt University Study Centres, with a focus on business planning/reporting, business intelligence & strategic analysis and operational support. This is a majority “hands on” senior individual contributor role:

Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate must have:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor level qualification ideally in business or finance
  • 10+ years’ experience in business analysis, strategy, operations, and/or project management
  • Experience using data to identify business/financial risks and opportunities and providing recommendations to address them
  • Resilience, maturity, ability and growth mindset to operate in a large matrix organization
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry with a complex stakeholder context
  • Experience in higher education desirable but not essential
  • Experience in supervising staff directly or matrixed in a large geographically dispersed national team
  • Experience in budget management and corporate planning Governance, Risk Management and Assurance experience
  • Corporate and regulatory reporting experience
  • Process reengineering and continuous improvement experience
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
