Job overview

This is a key role within Study Group’s learning and development function. Study Group employs academic and support staff, in study centres and colleges across the ANZ region. These staff are responsible for providing high-quality learning experiences to students, in what is a highly regulated environment.

The principal focus of this role will be to empower, enable and support these staff to ensure they are compliant with all external and internal regulatory requirements as they deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences to students. It will include both the design and delivery of bespoke development interventions, as well as engaging with external vendors and managing broader aspects of staff development.

This L&D role will be responsible for:

  • Understanding all regulatory frameworks and requirements relevant to our ANZ business and translating these into focused training interventions designed to ensure that all staff are fully compliant with all mandated regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting needs analysis, and identifying which staff cohorts require what level of training intervention.
  • Designing, facilitating and co-ordinating necessary staff training and development programmes including programmes for academic staff, support staff, managers and leaders, and specialist programmes for specific cohorts (for example, academic centre directors) as required.
  • Maintaining a view of compliance status. Carrying out training impact assessments and programme evaluations. Reporting programme effectiveness against requirements to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting broader learning and talent development initiatives as required (e.g. programmes in change management, continuous improvement, new process training initiatives etc.).
  • Designing and delivering online and webinar based content and workshops as required.
  • Fostering a culture of compliance and personal responsibility in respect of our regulatory obligations across the organisation
  • Working collaboratively with the other members of the HR function globally.


  • Demonstrated experience creating and running hands-on compliance training programmes, ideally in an education environment.
  • Familiarity with higher level educational regulatory frameworks and experience of working in regulated school or higher level education contexts.
  • Excellent understanding of training needs analysis. Ability to translate learning needs into impactful training interventions.
  • Effective design, facilitation and programme evaluation skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Versed in technology mediated learning approaches including LMS and online content authoring tools.
  • Strong project management, consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills. Credible with senior leaders.
  • Outcome-oriented, and comfortable in a complex global environment.
