Job Overview

Study Group Australia (SGA) is a leading international education provider. SGA operates the Charles Sturt University (CSU) Study Centres in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The approved CSU courses delivered at the Study Centres include undergraduate and postgraduate accounting, business and information technology courses leading to the award of a CSU qualification.

Currently, we are looking for a casual lecturer to increase our academic team and teach within our very successful Master of Information Technology (MIT) program starting 4th March 2019. We are seeking candidates with relevant experience to teach in any of our subjects within the MIT but specifically, we are seeking those with expertise and experience in:

  • Cloud computing, Topics in IT ethics, Computer Systems/Computer Organisation and Architecture, IoT, HCI, Systems Analysis, Python Programming, Internetworking with TCP/IP, Wireless Networking, Information Security, Digital Forensics, and Network and Security Administration. for postgraduate level

Ideally, the candidates should have the passion and experience of teaching postgraduate students focusing on the unique needs of international students at tertiary level institutions in Australia. Candidates for this role should be able to convincingly address the following selection criteria:

  • Appropriate Postgraduate academic qualifications. Having relevant professional experience is an advantage.
  • Experience of teaching in the relevant ITC subjects at the tertiary level at least for 2 to 3 years.
  • Sensitivity to personal, cultural, and ethnic differences in students’ behaviour and expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience of engaging students in their learning environments, and understanding about the needs of students coming from a broad range of nationalities and supporting them appropriately in making their learning experience rewarding, in particular, ability to make them participate in enhancing the teaching and learning environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong interest in professional development.
  • A track record in continuous professional development (CPD) as well as an ongoing commitment to CPD.
