Head of College

Study Group, in partnership with The University of Sydney, is looking to appoint the Head of College for Taylors College. The college teaches the foundation program to international students who then progress to their undergraduate degree studies at the university.
This is a prestigous and critical role offered for the first time in a decade due to retirement.

The Head of College ( HOC) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the college as aligned to the broader Study Group vision and strategy. This includes but is not limited to the academic, administrative, financial, business development and marketing operations of the college, the welfare and success of students and staff, and compliance with the regulatory environment governing education and international students' welfare.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct management of the academic , administrative and other support staff at the college.
  • Utilisation of centralised services in areas such as Admissions, Finance, IT and HR.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships within Study Group and with the University of Sydney to ensure effective operation of the partnership.
  • Actively developing opportunities to expand and broaden the college scope, reach and offerings and promoting appropriate alliances with other Study Group businesses.
  • Developing and growing the sphere of influence and reputation for the college within the sector fostering fruitful relationships with external influencers including government authorities and industry experts.

What experience do you need?

  • Substantial operational management experience in a higher education setting with a clear track record of driving operational and financial performance.
  • Demonstrable experience navigating academic and curriculum processes.
  • Demonstrable history of driving continuous improvement in academic standards and service provision within an educational setting
  • Experience and comfort in dealing with senior staff within the university sector ( Deputy VC International or Academic , Deans of Faculties or similar)

This role fundamentally requires an empathetic and agile communicator who can effectively balance the the imperatives of Study Group, the University and the students to deliver outcomes for all stakeholders.
