Job overview

Study Group are looking for a dedicated, highly experienced Head of Academic Quality Assurance and Governance. As the subject matter expert you will coach, influence and direct the work of others in all matters relating to academic quality assurance and governance across all Study Group Australia business lines and campuses

This role requires a strategic and agile professional with deep expertise in continuous quality improvement as well as an extensive understanding of internal & external audit systems and approaches.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a coordinated, systematic approach to academic governance, quality and compliance by ensuring policy, system and process is appropriately designed and well implemented across the business.
  • Ensure an appropriate internal academic governance framework is developed, implemented and communicated to stakeholders
  • Provide high level advice on academic standards and developments in academic governance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant educational sector requirements
  • On-going enhancement of best practice educational delivery and quality assurance in teaching and learning reflected in student satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Leadership of the Academic Directors’ Group
  • Oversight of Quality benchmarking intra group and cross institutional
  • Ensure systems and process are in place to meet TEQSA and state based regulations and requirements
  • Alongside the compliance team, oversee the completion of applications for accreditation, registration and re –registration.
  • Oversee internal audits and recommend improvements and developments in system, process and policy to keep abreast of regulatory changes
  • Provide high level advice on external audits and liaise with relevant bodies
  • Provide high level reports on delivery and performance metrics and recommendations on optimisation of delivery and educational outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the Executive Leadership Team, Heads of College and Campus Directors, internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate consultation, communication and support.
  • Develop, implement, embed and review a systemised Quality Management Framework for the organisation.
  • Effective leadership of the Quality and Compliance Risk Management Group and Policy Framework Steering Committee
  • Oversight of the Quality Analyst providing analysis on a number of quality indicators

Capabilities/Experience

  • An undergraduate degree with a further qualification in education management or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in leading academic governance at a senior level
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the development of highly effective quality frameworks while supporting commercial outcomes
  • Ability to establish and manage strong cross-functional relationships and operations.
  • Experience within an Australian University or private higher education provider
  • Superior attention to detail Ability to deal with ambiguity and change
