Casual English Teachers

Teaching hours options: Monday to Friday – 8am to 1pm, 9am to 2:30pm and 11am to 5pm
Teaching period: 5 weeks - 11th November 2019 until 13th December 2019.
Pay rate: From $55 to $75 per hour

Taylors College is seeking casual English teachers for ELICOS classes ranging from Pre-Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate for their Waterloo campus in Sydney. The successful candidates will be part of a team of experienced teachers and;

  • Prepare and deliver 23 hours face to face English Preparation Programs, as directed.
  • Maintain records of teaching programs, students’ academic progress and student welfare.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Attend meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Set and correct student homework.
  • Regularly confer with students regarding attendance, behaviour and progress.
  • Write student reports.
  • Develop own resource materials to support teaching programs.
  • Manage students in allocated classes.
  • Attend meetings and professional development at invitation of DOS

The successful applicants must also be excellent classroom teachers, be adept at using technology in the classroom and have proven ability to motivate students to succeed.

Candidates for this role should ideally be able to address the following selection criteria:

  • An undergraduate degree in education with a recognised TESOL qualification (e.g. CELTA) or higher
  • Legal work rights for Australia
  • Have experience teaching international students
  • Have a current WWCC (Working with Children Check)
