Assistant Bursar - 5 Month Contract

We are seeking an Assistant Bursar to work on a 5 Month contract for our Waterloo campus in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

Accounts receivable

  • Process student fees including invoicing and receipting, calculating and preparing refunds and discounts, follow up outstanding fees and financial data management
  • Manage student fee enquiries and escalate issues as required
  • Undertake banking transactions and reconciliations and maintain banking records

Accounts payable

  • Order goods and services in line with the purchasing policy
  • Ensure adherence to petty cash procedures and asset control procedures
  • Ensure accuracy in transaction coding
  • Process expense and reimbursement claim forms and credit card reconciliations

Student services

  • Maintain and update records in Study Global including extensions and enrolments of student courses, re-calculations of agent commissions, accommodation data and processing of refunds

Selection criteria

  • Post-Secondary qualification in Finance / Accounting
  • Experience in an accounts payable and receivable function
  • Experience in education administration and academic student databases would be an advantage

Other skills

  • Advanced skills in databases and Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Highly developed administration and organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a busy team environment
