University virtual open days to reach students from around the world

03 April 2020

Study Group’s new virtual open day experience ensures students are still able to explore their study options and keep their goals on track.

Study Group has worked swiftly to develop a virtual open day for students to chat live with experts about their study options.

In partnership with iVent, Study Group is able to guide students towards their ideal study destination with information about university options, pathway programmes, student life and the application process. Students have the chance to ask questions as well as explore digital content and resources in order to make an informed choice.

iVent has a reputation with universities globally for providing quality, immersive virtual events, from open days and launches to exhibitions and career fairs. This collaboration enables Study Group to provide the best experience for students from wherever they are in the world, showcasing all the opportunities available to them.

Dr Mark Cunnington, Executive Director, UK & EU at Study Group said:

“For 25 years, Study Group has helped to prepare generations of international students for academic success at leading universities. Our virtual fairs are a first step on that journey, giving students an opportunity to ask questions about how studying a pathway programme will enable them to achieve their university and career ambitions.”

Online events give an even greater depth to the data capture possible than open days hosted in students’ home countries. By utilising this technology, Study Group is able to gather insight on what students are looking to study, where they are from and which universities they are most interested in. Advanced behaviour tracking enables hosts to see key information, from who completes an enquiry form to the resources they read and how long they stayed in each university ‘booth’.

Study Group’s Study Centres and Colleges around the world have already started offering lessons online, as well as support sessions and breakout rooms to chat with their peers.

As online events continue to grow in popularity and with the advancement of technology, the opportunity to reach students at all stages of the recruitment journey is an exciting prospect for the future.
