The Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2013

The Times Higher Education Leadership and Management awards celebrate the sector’s leadership, management, financial and business skills. Three of Study Group’s UK partner universities have been recognized for outstanding achievements in four different fields.
The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 20th June 2013 at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London and hosted by comedian and TV science presenter Dara Ó Briain.
The University of Leicester, a winner at the THE awards for seven years running, won two awards; the Outstanding University Fundraising Initiative award for work in raising funds for the Cardiovascular Research Unit. Additionally, the communications team was recognised for its work across a range of projects including the incredible discovery of Richard III with the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team award.
Heriot-Watt took the Outstanding Human Resources Team award for a number of factors including HR’s contribution to improving institutional performance. Mark Adderley, Director of Human Resources commented “this prize reflects the contribution of the whole Human Resource Development team to the University's strategy”.
The University of Huddersfield was awarded the Outstanding Registry Team prize for outstanding work in assuring the quality of all courses and overseeing rules and regulations. One of the achievements that earned the award was a new system leading to dramatic falls in student problems and complaints.
