The Sunday Times University Guide 2013 has rewarded Heriot-Watt University’s outstanding performance in the National Student Survey by boosting it to 9th in the UK and 1st in Scotland.
Heriot-Watt is the first university to retain its title of 'Scottish University of the Year'. The university jumped 22 places in the ‘Best university in the UK for student experience’ category breaking in to the Top Ten and putting it above Warwick, UCL and Loughborough.
The Sunday Times praised Heriot-Watt for its ‘focus on courses which are geared to industry and which have a professional outcome’ as well as its ‘alliances with oil and gas companies… and research collaborations with more than 25 countries’. This focused approach and excellence in research is why Heriot-Watt is also ranked in the UK’s top 10 for graduate employment.
