14 August 2020

International students and staff at Study Group’s Bellerbys College in the UK are celebrating yet another year of excellent A Level examination results.

Despite an extraordinary period of change and uncertainty, international students at Bellerbys College have secured the following impressive results:

  • A* - A:  48% against a 2020 national average of 27.9%
  • A* - B:  72% against a 2020 national average of 54.3%
  • A* - C:  85% against a 2020 national average of 78.4%

These academic achievements, along with highly-developed English language skills, extra-curricular activities and increased confidence, means students have already begun to secure their places at leading UK universities, including:

  • 9 students to University College London to study Chemistry; Economics; Mathematics; Physics; Psychology; and Statistics
  • 4 students to London School of Economics to study Actuarial Science; Financial Mathematics and Statistics; and Sociology
  • 4 students to King’s College London to study Medicine, Neuroscience and Psychology; History; and Culture, Media & Creative Industries
  • 2 students to Imperial College London to study Materials Science and Engineering; and Mathematics

According to Study Group CEO Emma Lancaster:

“The achievements of our wonderful international students and staff this year have been exceptional, and more so in the face of the circumstances they have faced with students finishing their studies online and traditional exams replaced with moderated assessment. The grades they have earned are a testament to their own determination and to the hard work of all of our teachers, welfare and student services staff who worked tirelessly to ensure students have been supported to pursue their ambitions to study in leading UK universities.”

“The whole of Study Group wants to congratulate these young people from around the world and to wish them well in their future studies and careers. Their hard work, determination and care for one another are precisely the qualities which will secure them future success, as individuals and as a group who I have every confidence will help to make a better world through education.”
