CareerAhead is a service designed to give students a head-start in today’s competitive graduate employment market. It equips students with skills sought by graduate recruiters and employers, and enables them to leave university as confident, work-ready graduates. CareerAhead will be introduced at institutions across the UK, Europe, North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand from September 2016.
The programme, which has received coverage from The PIE news, StudyTravel Magazine and SI News, has been developed following analysis of graduate employment market data. The research revealed that 97% of students recognise the importance of developing employability skills while at college, and 62% of students are influenced by job prospects after graduation when choosing their academic programme.
Speaking about the initiative, Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Sussex, Clare Mackie said: “We welcomed the CareerAhead programme's integrated approach as a way of increasing student engagement with career services. We recognise how important it is to help students with their careers and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed not just in their degrees, but also in the workplace."
