Study Group joins #WeAreInternational campaign

This summer, Study Group promotes #WeAreInternational across its UK International Study Centres. This influential campaign celebrates international students, reinforces their rights, and promotes the contribution they make to the UK. Our aim is to ensure that this message is heard loud and clear across the globe.

A hub of international talent, the UK has a long history of welcoming students from all corners of the world. Study Group is proud of the diverse student communities that enrich the UK’s world-class education system, contribute to its global economy, and enhance the academic and cultural life at the universities we work with.

An important global message

The UK’s cultural vibrancy and global reputation has been under the spotlight in recent years. In response, Sheffield Students' Union and the University of Sheffield launched the #WeAreInternational campaign in 2013 to celebrate diversity and communicate that international students are welcome in the UK.

Since then, #WeAreInternational has gained more than 200 Higher Education supporters, and is backed by prominent bodies like the National Union of Students (NUS) and the British Council. The campaign team recently held a reception at the Houses of Parliament and, having re-launched #WeAreInternational after the 2016 EU referendum result, is working to influence government policy on the rights of international students.

Our commitment

Study Group is launching the #WeAreInternational campaign across all UK International Study Centres this month. From August 2017, we will be sharing stories from our centres and welcoming new international students through our UK social media channels.

Committed to strengthening the UK’s international reputation, we want to make sure that international students receive the right message about studying in the UK, while continuing to provide a welcoming and comfortable home from home where they can live, study and thrive.
