Study Group employees ‘pedal across Nepal’ in office fundraiser for community school

30 November 2017

Study Group teams all over the world will compete on exercise bikes in a global cycling fundraising challenge.

Study Group teams around the world will compete on exercise bikes in the Global Cycle Challenge this Friday, 1 December, to raise funds to rebuild Shinhamati School in Nepal.

In 2015, devastating earthquakes left more than one million Nepalese children without access to education. Study Group is hoping the Global Cycle Challenge will raise £10,000 towards reconstruction, fit-out, and resourcing of the new disaster-proof school for 286 students in Sindhupalchowk district, Nepal.

Study Group CEO, David Leigh. Said: “Each one of us can make a difference. It is inspiring to see Study Group employees helping to change the lives of students and their families in one small Nepalese village. It lifts our spirits.”

Study Group has a long-term commitment to community education projects in developing regions, following the devastation and loss caused by the Asian tsunami in 2004. Since then, Study Group has worked with Plan International to build schools and provide education resources for local communities all over the world. Rebuilding Shinhamati School is Study Group’s tenth Building Futures project.
