Until now, direct entry to a degree has been the only option available to high-achieving international students aiming to study at Baylor University.
This is set to change from January 2019 when the International Study Center will open its doors on the University campus. With the launch of the Center, students will have the chance to study the International Year pathway programme before their degree.
The new programme will give students who would benefit from additional support to truly thrive at Baylor, the guidance they need to achieve excellence in their studies. Students will study a broad range of subjects, gaining academic knowledge, English language proficiency and essential study skills. The programme will last from two to three semesters, depending on the student’s level of English on entry, and additional Intensive English Programs will also be available.
International Year students will gain invaluable support to adapt to life and university education in the USA. Studying their pathway programme on the University campus, they will be part of the Baylor community from day one.
Successful completion of the International Year will lead to a choice of 142 majors at Baylor University. Exceptional students will still have the option to apply for direct entry to a degree, if they meet the entry requirements.
