Until now, direct entry to a degree has been the only option available to high-achieving international students aiming to study at Baylor University.
This is set to change in Fall 2018 when the International Study Center will open its doors on the University campus. With the launch of the Center, students will have the chance to study the International Year pathway programme before their degree.
The new programme will enable greater numbers of international students to study at Baylor University and increase diversity. For students with lower IELTS scores but who Baylor can see would otherwise truly thrive, the additional support provided at the Center will ensure they are ready to join the University.
The Center will teach a broad range of subjects, teaching academic knowledge, English language proficiency and essential study skills. The programme will last from two to three semesters, depending on the student’s level of English on entry, and an additional Intensive English Program will also be available.
Successful completion of the International Year will lead to a choice of 142 majors at Baylor University. The Center has designed its curriculum to meet and exceed Baylor’s quality standards so students can perform better throughout their studies.
Exceptional students still have the option to apply for direct entry to a degree if they meet the entry requirements.
