Study Group announces changes to senior leadership

18 July 2018

Chief Executive, David Leigh, is to become Chairman on 1 September, and Emma Lancaster, the current Chief Financial Officer, will become Chief Executive.

Mr Leigh said: “I am immensely proud of what Study Group has achieved over the past five and a half years. This has been an incredibly important period, during which we have grown to become the most successful pathway provider in the sector. That is a tribute to all the team at Study Group which it has been a privilege to lead.

“I am very fortunate to be able pass the role of Chief Executive Officer to Emma Lancaster. For the last five years Emma has made an immeasurable contribution to Study Group as our Chief Financial Officer, extending well beyond the finance function and including key strategic projects that have been critical to the development of our entire operation. Having worked with Emma in total for over ten years, I am sure that she will be a fine leader of the organisation, and I am pleased that I will be able to continue to support her and the team in my leadership of our Board.”

Sir John Hood, current Chairman and formerly the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to make these two appointments. David has been an outstanding leader of our organisation and I am confident that Emma will prove to be a worthy successor. I look forward to continuing to serve on our Board.”

Emma Lancaster said: “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to take on the role of CEO and build on the significant progress which we have made under David’s leadership.”
