Students gain a competitive edge with Study Group’s new preparation course

05 May 2020

Study Group’s virtual preparation course – Prepare for Success – helps students make smart use of their time and experience learning online now.

Study Group is delighted to announce the launch of a specialist preparation course designed to give students a head-start before they begin their academic programme in the UK and Europe. Delivered virtually to students’ homes from late June, our Prepare for Success course will give learners the confidence and skills they need to progress in their studies.

Using our 25 years’ experience of teaching international students, we have developed more than 100 hours of high-quality content to prepare students for a successful study experience. This content has been designed to reflect student needs at this time of global uncertainty, giving them the added assurance that their course will prepare them for everything they need on their academic journey.

All students who confirm a place on one of our programmes, and pay a portion of their fees, will be given free access to in-depth academic content and English materials. With this early experience of learning online and independently managing their time, students will be well-equipped to thrive in a university environment.

Exclusive, in-depth learning materials

Students will have exclusive access to an extensive range of learning materials along with regular direct tutor feedback. Carefully curated material is delivered in ten learning sessions to help students become self-reflective, independent and effective learners.

During the course, students develop essential skills, including:

  • Study and academic skills, such as time management, note taking, and avoiding plagiarism.
  • English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking and listening for academic study.
  • Cultural and personal skills, such as intercultural communication, embracing a support network and how to maximise group and teacher interaction.

A supportive international community

While learning online, students will be part of an international community as they get to know their classmates and tutors ahead of their academic programme. This early preparation gives students a head start as they immerse themselves in the university experience and prepare to make the transition from home to overseas study.
