New partnerships for Holland International Study Centre

27 June 2014

Holland International Study Centre in Amsterdam is delighted to announce a partnership with two new highly ranked University partners.

In May and June 2014 James Pitman signed partnership agreements with VU Amsterdam University (THE rank 144) and the University of Twente (THE rank 170). The focus of the partnership is on Foundation Education, but both institutions are also interested in developing pathway programmes at a Master level.

VU Amsterdam University
VU Amsterdam University, founded in 1880, is one of the two research universities based in the city of Amsterdam and is ranked 140 in the Times Higher Education ranking. The University is based in Amsterdam’s vibrant ‘Zuidas’ Business District. The University offers a Bachelor in International Business Administration and Computer Science in English to which our Foundation programmes will provide access.

Although Holland ISC’s existing partner Groningen University is very popular we received many requests in the past year for a similar level progression partner in the Amsterdam area. With VU Amsterdam University we now have that partner in our portfolio.

University of Twente
The University of Twente ranked 170 in the THE ranking Twente is one of only three ranked Universities of Technology in Holland that offer degrees in Engineering.  Their 350 acre green campus houses one the largest and most advanced Nanolabs in Europe. The University focuses on research, development and education of technology that benefits society and has the motto: High tech, human touch.

The Foundation Programmes will provide access to most of Twente’s English Bachelor’s degrees including a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering , Advanced Technology, Creative Technology, and International Business Administration. Although the main focus of the partnership is currently on Foundation, the University is also interested in exploring the possibilities for providing access to its 36 Master programmes per September 2015.

With these new additions to the partner portfolio of Holland ISC the centre is now linked to four Universities ranked in the top 200 of the world: Wageningen University (THE rank 77), Groningen University (98), VU Amsterdam University (144) and the University of Twente (170).
