Study Group has raised over one million US dollars for school children in developing countries with its charity Building Futures.
For the last ten years Building Futures has been fundraising for school building projects with Plan International, with the most recent project completed in Sri Lanka.
Staff, students and employees helped to raise vital funds in order to give 400 children access to primary education in Anuradhapura. The school opening ceremony was a colourful display of music, tree planting and dancing, and six Study Group employees were lucky enough to win the trip there.
The next project will be in Nepal and efforts will be dedicated to rebuilding school classrooms in the Sindhupalchowk district around Kathmandu.
A major earthquake in April 2015 destroyed much of the area and the project plans to help hundreds of students regain access to an education.
The fundraising target for the Nepal project is £180,000, which Study Group will match pound for pound.
