Students, Staff and Guests Enjoy Official Launch of Bellerbys' New Oxford Centre
09 February 2011
Located 10 minutes from the city centre, the new school offers students a fantastic learning environment with modern facilities, plenty of space, and a peaceful riverside setting.
The centre was opened to students in the autumn term of 2010, but its official launch took place on 9th February, when staff and students were delighted to show a variety of guests around the new premises.
In total around 80 guests attended the opening ceremony, including members of the Study Group Global Executive Team and Managing Directors of Providence Equity Patrick Corso, Peter O. Wilde and Charles Gottdiener. Also in attendance were Councillor John Goddard, the Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Oxford; Susanna Pressel, City Councillor for Jericho; and Osney Ward, County Councillor for West Central Oxford Division. Rosemary Preston, Director of the International Centre for Education at the University of Warwick was also able to come along.
All guests were offered a tour of the new centre before being served a range of canapés and refreshments. Two students at the school supplied some beautiful background music for the event, and it was four of the school’s top A Level and Foundation students who had the honour of unveiling our plaque. Managing Director of Study Group’s UK and Europe HE Divison, James Pitman was asked to mark the event with a speech, as was Study Group Chairman Arvid Petersen, who said:
"Bellerbys College is the jewel in the Study Group crown. The Bellerbys brand is successful, prestigious, and pioneering – characteristics that are all at the very heart of what Study Group is about… the team here in Oxford have dedicated themselves to continuing the Bellerbys tradition of progress and innovation by leading the development of this magnificent new study centre, where I’ve no doubt we will continue to see the Bellerbys College success story evolve and inspire."
We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped organise the event and are delighted with the extremely positive comments that the new centre received.
