Durham University International Study Centre ready to welcome first cohort of hundreds of students.

Study Group is pleased to announce that the Durham University International Study Centre in Stockton-on-Tees will be receiving its first cohort of students from next week.

This weekend, hundreds of students students from around the world will be arriving ahead of the Centre’s first Induction Week beginning on Monday 11th September. Students will participate in a full week of arrival and orientation activities to help them settle in to their new study environment, meet staff and students, and adjust to life in the UK.

Durham University International Study Centre has seen a highly successful recruitment year following the launch of the relationship between Study Group and Durham University earlier this year. It demonstrates the commitment of both parties to deliver exceptional education experiences to international students, and further the world-class research and academic reputation of Durham University.

Durham University is investing and changing to deliver world-class research, education and wider student experience and the opening of the Durham University International Study Centre is a key moment in our development,” said Professor Antony Long, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of Durham University.

Professor Long also commented that the number and diversity of applicants to the International Study Centre demonstrates “the attraction of the University around the world.” This is a particularly strong enticement for ambitious students who will also take into consideration the success of Durham in university league tables.

Durham has retained a position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, with a position of 97 in 2018. The University is ranked 4th in the United Kingdom by the Guardian University Guide 2018 which makes the institution an attractive study destination for driven and focused students.

As the University is a member of the Russell Group, the International Study Centre will make studying at a top ranked university an accessible option for forward-thinking international students who wish to pursue careers in research-based fields.
