Weekend General Catering Assistant

Hours: Sat - Sun & bank holidays 9am – 7.30pm (20 hours per week)
£7.32 - £8.16

*Full time hours may also be available for this position

We are looking for a General Catering Assistant to join our catering team to assist with the preparation and service of food in our College cafeteria

Key Responsibilities

  • Servingon the hot counter throughout lunch and evening services
  • Assisting with food prep including salads, veg prep and grab & go items
  • Keeping server area clean and organised, displaying products as per department standings
  • Maintain excellent standards of customer service, providing information and assistance with regard to food and service
  • Serving on the till
  • Cleaning in the canteen area as required, including floors
  • Keeping the pot wash and kitchen area clean and tidy
  • Any other kitchen duties as required


Ideal candidate needs to have some basic food prep knowledge and good communication skills are a must as you will be conversing with customers from all over the world and providing information with regard to our food offer. You need to be a good team player and be methodical and organised. A basic food hygiene certificate and kitchen experience would be an advantage

Meals on duty and uniform will be provided plus 28 days holiday per annum pro rata.
