General Catering Assistant Front of House

Job description

Hours: Mon- Fri 8a.m – 4.30 p.m. 
Duration: Maternity cover 52 weeks

Start date 21st November 2016

Front of house assistant required to cover coffee cart, retail shop, floors tea point service and hostpitality services. You'll need to have an outgoing and friendly manner, enjoy dealing with people, be flexible and adapt to changing workloads often at a short notice, possess numeracy skills and have good attention to detail. A good team ethic is essential as you will be working within a small team. Barista and customer service experience would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving in the college shop
  • Stocking shelves and keeping shop clean and tidy
  • Making and serving barista style coffees
  • Cashing up
  • Servicing the staff tea points
  • Undertaking hospitality services as required

Ideal candidate must have high standards of customer service as this is a predominantly a customer facing role.  Good communication skills are a must as you will be conversing with customers from all over the world and providing information with regard to our food offer.  You need to be a good team player and be methodical and organised. A basic food hygiene certificate would be an advantage

Meals on duty and uniform will be provided plus 28 days holiday per annum pro rata
