North American Recruitment Specialist

Job description

The Global Product Teams will achieve revenue and profit goals for their portfolio of universities. As Product team members they will work across a wider sales matrix (internal and external) to achieve recruitment goals. The North America Recruitment Specialist will market a portfolio of higher education programs across their regions and support the Partner Sales Manager team that is locally based in numerous locations. This role will build knowledge of brands within portfolio and ownership for conversion activities in line with partner or account plans. They will also ensure any North America product activity is scalable and recognizes the return on investment of any marketing or recruitment activities. The position will work across our Key Agent and Feeder Partners as well as Direct channels.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Marketing and Conversions

  • Work across channels to deliver multi-channel conversion strategies based on internal and external metrics and insights to achieve revenue, profit and student diversity targets
  • Deliver scalable and effective conversion including conversion calls, attendance at events and education advisory discussions with potential students and parents
  • Representing the Universities and Study Group at key promotional events
  • Deliver product training on Study Group’s North America portfolio of universities for both internal and external teams
  • Ensure in-market relationships with key university, government and commercial organizations are developed and maintained

Financial management

  • Proactively participates in target setting with the Partner and Accounts teams
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting requirements are met
  • Manage costs within assigned budget
  • Develop and deliver specific financial initiatives that will ensure the business plan is achieved

Client Relationship

  • Articulate and support our customer value proposition to ensure we differentiate against competitive offerings
  • Recording of all contacts, meetings communications and presentations with clients in the new CRM system

The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the Study Group Code of Conduct, and all local Embassy Centres' policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.

Geographical Scope

The role will include significant interaction with the Partner Sales Manager team, as well as with our university partners, Study Group staff based in the US (e.g. Admissions, Marketing, and Finance) and customers (agents, students, parents) globally. The role will cover North Asia and Hong Kong. Travel to these regions will be required (30-50% travel depending on the time of year)

Qualifications & Training

  • Bachelor degree holder, preferably from a US university
  • Fluency in English a must
  • CRM knowledge a plus, preferably salesforce.com
  • Ability to use Powerpoint and Excel at an advanced level

Experience Required

  • Western educated or 2-5 years of experience in product sales and marketing through both an agency and direct distribution model
  • A commercially savvy product manager with a successful track record in delivering results via a key account management model and/or contact centre sales model
  • Experience in successfully executing conversion, marketing and sales strategies
  • Experience identifying a customer’s business drivers and influencing their buying behaviour in line with a customer value proposition
  • Knowledge and understanding of the international student marketplace and the challenges within this industry
  • A fundamental understanding of the US higher education system and selling points
