Great results in the Guardian University league tables 2017

Following this week’s release of The Guardian University league tables 2017 we are delighted to announce outstanding ranking results among the universities we work with in the UK.

In the overall rankings two of the institutions we work with feature in the top 10: University of Surrey, which entered the top ten last year, has retained its position as 4th in the rankings, with Lancaster University rising two places to be ranked 8th.

Study Group works with five universities ranked in the top 20 in the UK for the second year running, a result that recognises the student-first commitment underpinning these university relationships. The institutions we work with also dominate many of the top spots in subject league tables, and several have seen significant ranking rises over the past year.

Impressive subject rankings

Accounting and Finance rankings saw University of Leeds ranked 1st – with a further three institutions with which we work, University of Strathclyde, Lancaster University and University of Surrey, appearing in the top 20.

Business, Management and Marketing saw five of the universities we work with ranked among the top 20: University of Surrey (2nd), University of Leeds (6th), Lancaster University (8th), Coventry University (11th) and University of Strathclyde (20th).

Three institutions we work with have been ranked in the top 20 for Economics courses with University of Leeds placing 3rd, Lancaster University ranking 13th and University of Surrey placing 17th.

Many of the universities we work with placed highly in the Engineering subject rankings, with four ranked top 20 for Chemical Engineering, two top 10 places for Civil Engineering, five universities ranking in the top 20 for Electric and Electronic Engineering, and four universities ranking in the top 20 for Mechanical Engineering.

The universities we work with also performed highly in the Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism subject leagues, with University of Surrey and Coventry University retaining the top two places respectively.

Media and Film Studies also saw impressive results: University of Leeds and Lancaster University have been ranked 10th and 11th respectively.

Significant ranking rises

In the overall rankings Keele University has jumped 12 places to take the 34th spot.

Many of the universities we work with also saw impressive rises across subject leagues, with Leeds Beckett University jumping up 40 places to rank 35th for Media and Film Studies, Liverpool John Moores University jumping significantly up the tables across several subjects (ranking 14th for Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism, and 25th for Electric and Electronic Engineering). The University of Sheffield has climbed 28 places to be ranked 38th place for Business, Management and Marketing, tied with Liverpool John Moores University.
